The XTR takes the company's HiLume multi-chemical multicoating one step further with the new "StormCoat" - a coating that causes water to bead and shear off quickly. The lenses are also built larger for greater clarity and resolution.
The scope's toughness comes through its outer tube walls, which are 25% thicker for greater strength. The inner tube is locked into place by a double-force coil spring suspension.
